Thank you so much to Austin Bazaar. The drum set looked wonderful and was received on time however, the crash cymbal was dented. I spoke to an Amazon customer rep and they gave me the number to Austin Bazaar. I left them a message and they promptly returned my call. They are shipping me a replacement cymbal immediately and told me to call back if I had any other questions. It made me feel wonderful about this fairly large Christmas present purchase. The drum set looks perfect otherwise. Our 2 1/2 year old is going to love it. I anticipate it will be a "hit"!
***UPDATE*** The drum set is a hit with both my 2 1/2 year old and also his 6 year old sister. My brother is a professional percussionist and he was impressed with the quality of this junior drum set. I had another professional drummer assemble the set for us. He thought the set was great. It took him (a professional who has assembled MANY sets) between 30-40 mins. This included him professionally tuning the heads for us. If we had been left to do all of this ourselves it would have taken MUCH longer so be sure to set aside plenty of time for assembly. It is a beautiful set! Love the red metallic!

We bought this set in Green for our boys for Christmas and are absolutely thrilled! The boys love it!! And although the assembly instructions were a little on the vague side, my husband was able to put it together relatively easily in about a half an hour. We purchased this mainly for our 3 year old - who has been interested in drums ever since he started watching The Fresh Beat Band - but our 9 year old also gets use out of it. Honestly, even my husband uses it! It's perfectly sized for our 3 year old. And even though we knew it would be on the small side for our older boy (age recommendations are 3-8), he's still able to have a lot of fun with it and doesn't have much of a problem sitting at it. It's a great set to learn on and sounds authentic!! EXCELLENT quality for the price!

This is precisely the drum set I was looking for. After assembly, it looks exactly as it's pictured: three drums with high-hat, cymbal and stool.
Assembly was straightforward and the result left my wife and I stunned that we had lucked out with such a quality and interesting set for our 7-year old boy. This was probably going overboard a bit, but it seemed so much fun for a reasonable price.
We also purchased a great video (from Amazon) to accompany the instruction and try to insist on practice at least three times a week. Though we'll see how this goes.
All in all, a great purchase. Though I am occasionally tempted to sit on the stool, it was really made for a child!

After reading reviews for several junior drumsets, I decided to go with this one for my 3 1/2 year old grandson. It's a "hit"! It's perfect for his size and I would say will last him until he's 7 as far as size goes. The quality is great, especially for the price. My son in law set it up and he plays set,so I can't comment on difficulty level of set up if no one in your home has experience. It's beautiful...glad I trusted the reviews!!! And it was here before the shipping arrival date!

My daughter is 3 and has always loved tooling around on my husband's set. We got this for her last Christmas and she adores it. Just like a proper drum kit only smaller, she has so much fun!
