Functional Drum Mat, Small Footprint Jun 18, 2010

I'm using this as a mat for my Roland TD-4s to increase traction and prevent scuffs and scratches on a hardwood floor.
pro: Inexpensive, unobtrusive, comes with a nice carry bag to transport, does whats it's supposed to do.
con: Could be too small depending on the size of your setup, has no friction backing or weighted corners (could shift around depending on your play style, drum set, and whether your throne is on the mat), color scheme is very "sporty" and may not mesh with the decor, will never be totally flat, still has creases and wrinkles in it from how it was folded up.
Final Verdict: For the price, not sure you could do better. Other branded drum mats and rugs are overpriced (especially Roland) If you're not going to use your own carpeting, you could do a lot worse, and it does its job of preventing bass drum movement and scuffing hard floors. If it fits what you need, you'll like it. If you need something larger, or heavier, look elsewhere.

This Mat has served me very well. I find it works better than most carpet rugs/mats, at least for my drum. I had a pretty severed case of the sliding bass drum on any stage that was solid wood or something similar. Still, only very deep carpet could keep my bass drum stationary. I bought this mat the day after another drummer let me use his on a gig, I was that impressed with it (Especially when he told me how much it cost). With this mat down, your equipment is completely stationary.
Only real problem i have with it is, that if you extend the spikes in the rubber grips on your bass drum legs, it can eat chunks out of the mat, but even without the spikes extended, it barely moves compared to hardwood. With the spikes out a tiny bit, they might put small holes in the mat, but i find that it makes a good guide for setting your bass drum down in the same spot every time. And your Bass Drum will not go anywhere.
I also have never managed to roll the mat up tight enough to fit back in the tote bag it comes in, and also broke one of the velcro straps, but its so small that i dont bother to strap it up. I just roll it up and throw it in my hardware bag.
This Mat is a killer deal considering the price, the size, and how well it works.

This drum mat is not fabric, it's made of a poly material very similar to a yoga mat. For that reason, it is almost certainly not as durable as a heavy fabric mat. It is also fairly small-- Forget about using this mat with a large dual bass drum setup. However, it was the most inexpensive mat I could find online and it performs its function perfectly. I wanted a drum mat because my home has hardwood floors and my bass drum and pedals would "creep" all over the place, especially when I picked up speed. Slightly exposed spikes on my bass drum's feet and the velcro on the bottom of my double pedal keeps everything in place no matter how hard and fast I play. The mat comes with two removable velcro straps to keep it neatly folded, and it's small enough to stash in a gig bag. It looks nice, even if the neon green corners are a bit much. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

The drumset can not move with this drumFire, is really cool!
my only complain is the package was to big and the shipping to CR was to expensive :(
